Dirk Starts 3 Million Euro Fundraising rally at "Wetten Dass...?"

"We turn battlefields into playing fields," said our team captain, Dirk Nowitzki, recently named Ambasador of Sport by Kofi Anan, as he presented Operation Sneaker to 11,5 million viewers of the German TV show "Wetten Dass...?".

This marked the start of the first relay in our campaign to raise three million Euros in order to support and expand projects to help children in unusually difficult conflict areas. With the money we want to expand several existing noteworthy projects by providing much needed financial support, the creation of facilities and purchase of equipment for a long-term perspective. The first focus projects selected are in Sierra Leone, Israel/Palestine, Brazil and Northern Ireland. You can read more about the projects here.

The first 100 thousand Euro came in over our 2 Euro hotline 0900 18 000 18 already during the television show and we hope that many more will add their contribution in the coming months.
